Some of the most important things to consider when designing and building a solar car are. 1. Reduce all friction as much as you can, especially around the axles, wheels, and gears. 2. Make your car as light as it can be and still carry the solar panel, motor and battery pack. 3. Make sure the axles are mounted straight so that the car runs straight, otherwise it will bump into the track rails and get slowed down. 4. The car must have the axles parallel and the solar panel mounted such that everything is balanced and the power wheels (The ones attached to the motor) have good traction.
